White Birds and Lemons are a four piece rock outfit formed in late 2005 from the suburb of Devonport on the North Shore of Auckland.

The band are: Scott Frantz (Vocals, rhythm guitar), Rob Dickens (Drums, backing vocals), Dom Dipple (Bass, keys) and Matt Wilson (Lead guitar).

White Birds and Lemons play an eclectic mix of blues, folk, psychedelic and experimental rock, drawing influence from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles to Radiohead and Kings of Leon.

Their debut 8 track mini-album 'Who Says You're Free' was recorded and produced by The Mint Chicks singer Kody Neilson in his home studio (where their critically acclaimed new album "Crazy?Yes!Dumb? No!" was recorded), with the delicate art touches created by Hamilton artist Rebecca Hart.

The album clocks in at 30 minutes and 8 tracks, an ambitious first release with lyrical depth and a carefully plotted ebb and flow. Throughout, the band's strength in songwriting and musicianship are evident, and Scott Frantz's unique vocal delivery is undeniably bewitching. The album delves into varying themes from discontentment in love or life setting the tone, in a sense, to be slightly dark, to the more beautiful or amusing aspects of life and love.

The songs and lyrics are mainly written by drummer Rob Dickens, with contributions from Scott Frantz and Matt Wilson.

White Birds and Lemons reputable live show has won them raving reviews amongst local media and is sure to win them many more offshore.
