With the help of one Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels, half of the seminal hip hop crew Run DMC and Sam Sparro, 'Black and Gold' writer and all-round new talent on the block, Mason have created a perfect soundclash of old and new school.
The unlikely collaboration came about by a chance meeting at a festival with a friend of the guys. The MC had just been performing "Walk This Way" with Aerosmith in front of a packed Hyde Park crowd when he was given a CD of some Mason tracks. Impressed with the Dutchmen's beats it wasn't long before he was dropping some old school rhymes in true DMC style.
The result sounded great, with only one caveat; there was a gaping hole left as the New Yorker forgot to drop a chorus! Cue Sam Sparro, Fresh from a massive debut record for Island Records. A long time Mason and Run DMC fan, Sam used a fortuitous gap in his schedule to collaborate with the boys.
