Shane Nicholson - new clip and tour dates

‘Bad Machines’ album has been received by music aficionados and fans with great acclaim and enthusiasm. Most recently ‘Bad Machines’ has been nominated for the ARIA Country Album of 2011. A well deserved nomination and interestingly, for the first time ever in ARIA history, a husband and wife are competing for the same award with Kasey Chamber’s ‘Little Bird’ album also nominated.

Life is never dull at the Chambers/Nicholson residence as Shane and Kasey, together with sons Talon and Arlo have just welcomed a brand new member to the family; baby daughter and little sister Poet, who arrived on October 6th.

The latest single from ‘Bad Machines’ is ‘Jimmy Rodgers Was A Vampire’. Shane explains the origin of the song: “I don’t think Jimmy Rodgers was a vampire. I know that he suffered from Tuberculosis, and sometimes TB sufferers were labelled as vampires because of the symptoms they show. And therein lies the true meaning of this song – sometimes we get things completely wrong!”

The film clip for ‘Jimmy Rogers’ was shot by the multi award winning Duncan Toombs. View the video via the following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/shanenicholsontv#p/c/DED82BC8671AAFD8/17/gAl8Qs0kBPY

Music critics are certainly not wrong about their unanimous praise of Shane Nicholson, many citing the depth of his songs and the extent of his honest and emotional vocal delivery as his hallmark.

“….he descends from the great American Alt-Country pioneers like Gene Clarke and Gram Parsons, people who truly loved the traditions of country music but not its conventions” - Courier Mail/Brisbane

‘Shane Nicholson would have to be one of the best alternative country songwriters in the country. Bad Machines is a testament to that.” – The Canberra Times.

‘…the subtle varieties within the songs and the sheer quality of the tracks such as Broken Things separate Nicholson from the bland pack’ - Sydney Morning Herald.

‘…this is a damn pretty perfect record’ – Fasterlouder.com

After a few weeks enjoying some time out with the family, Shane will head back out on the road as the special guest of K.D. LANG on selected dates of her national tour.

Shane is also one of the local guest performers on the hotly anticipated ‘WAY TO BLUE; THE SONGS OF NICK DRAKE’ tribute concert tour.
