The Holidays
When The Ship Goes Down
Fast becoming one of the most acclaimed and favoured bands on the indie scene, The Holidays are back with a new killer EP When The Ship Goes Down. Produced by Wayne Connolly (The Vines, Josh Pyke) and mastered by John Davis (Kaiser Chiefs, The Ting Tings, Bloc Party) When The Ship Goes Down marks a huge step up for the Sydney based band.
"Working with such a humble master like Wayne created an atmosphere of creativity and excitement in the studio, as a result we now have a record that sounds just like it was meant to." - says The Holidays front-man Simon Jones.
It's taken little time for The Holidays to establish themselves as serious contenders. In the relatively short time since their conception, The Holidays have performed with host of international and local artists and bands such as Ben Kweller, The Wombats, Jamie T, Lightspeed Champion and Wolf and Cub - not to mention having played a string of headline shows and gracing the stages of this years Laneway Festival.
When The Ship Goes Down is essentially a collection of sunny hooks and catchy carefree melodies, however there's more meaning behind the songs as Jones denotes - "The songs are a series of observations about the decline of relationships and the thrill when one catches you by surprise."
The EP will include current live favourites Mexico, When The Ship Goes Down and Take Your Own Advice.
